We had a complicated trip with KLM and Delta codeshare. The third leg of our trip (connecting in AMS) was cancelled and we ended up with a pretty nice hotel stay near Schiphol due to this issue caused by the airline. It was nice but certainly due because they wanted to make us wait around Schiphol all day and take TWO more connecting flights after already being inflight on two other flights for 24 hours. We also missed our first hotel night in our destination city because of the airlines cancellation. So we came out even and for that I thank KLM. However, getting accurate information from anyone at the first transfer in Minneapolis was not possible because they were all Delta. If you have any issues with codeshare flights the airline you're actually flying ( we booked with KLM and it included some flights on Delta) with has little they can do for you. The other big issue was on the return flight we were forced to check bags on flights that clearly were not full. This was done by an airport agent that seemed to be an employee of Croatia airports. Eventually the bag did get to us but two days later and not without concern over losing some favorite things. The agent at the destination seemed to be blaming KLM for not transferring the baggage. Hard to say exactly what happened but it was not smooth clearly. Overall the flight experience was fine and the attendants were friendly, but I would say the seats on the KLM 777 were too hard for my back. They also didn't have wifi on a 9 hour flight. On a positive note, the meal was one of the better ones on a flight in recent memory. We enjoyed the olive plate and South African wine served with the dinner main entree.

Zonet een zeer slechte ervaring gehad met KLM.
We hebben onze vlucht gemist door de lange rijen bij de baggage incheck (die toevallig wat later helemaal leeg waren).
Wanneer we een medewerker vroegen of ze iets kon doen om te helpen, werden we bruutweg afgewezen. Toen we dan eindelijk aan de beurt waren, was het dus te laat.
We werden verwezen naar de service balie voor omboeking.
Na hier meer dan een uur in de rij te hebben gestaan (toevallig hadden veel mensen hetzelfde probleem, zou het te maken kunnen hebben met slechte regeling van KLM?), kregen we bruutweg te horen dat omboeking niet mogelijk was en dat dus de kosten op onze rekening kwamen (en het was echt een dure vlucht) en dat de volgende vlucht binnen 3 dagen was (waar we dan de volle pot opnieuw moeten voor betalen).
Ook totaal geen greintje sympathie van hun kant, echt shockerend.
Dit is wat mij betreft de laatste keer dat ik met KLM vlieg, zo'n klantonvriendelijkheid heb ik zelden gezien.

Sinds 2000 frequent gevlogen met KLM van Amsterdam naar San Francisco…eerste keren met de 747,en dat is al een belevenis op zich..laatste keren de nieuwe 777 Dreamliner..nog nooit een slechte ervaring..personeel is fantastisch..doen alles om het naar je zin te maken..eten op de lange vlucht toereikend..geen restaurant kwaliteit..maar kan ook niet..beenruimte valt ook goed mee..al ben ik helemaal geen klein persoon..

person threw up middle of meal service in front of me and flight attendant didn’t clean it up until after serving the meals very unsanitary airline situation should’ve been dealt with immediately definitely will never travel again on KLM specially with the old airplanes they use as well!

They lost my luggage during a trip to AMS, Athens & Rome but at least they tried to help and eventually found it a week later. The folks at ATH airport (Goldair Handling who are contracted to handle luggage claims in Greece) were beyond rude and unhelpful. Thanks to KLMs customer service (mostly over the phone; their app chat support is beyond pitiful) I was able to at least find the bag; we thought it has lost/stolen but thankfully not. A big thumbs up to KLM's customer service; their SFO operation that misplaced our bag, not so much.
